Crowns and Veneers
If you have unsightly teeth, then crowns or veneers could be the perfect way to bring back a great looking smile.
If you have damaged teeth , crowns can be used to cover them as they reinforce the tooth and give it a much better appearance. they are custom made for you in a dental laboratory, so the exact match in terms of size and colour can be achieved to your existing teeth.
A veneer is a small shield which covers the exiting tooth. Veneers give a dazzling smile and are used to improve the teeth at the front.
Before the Procedure
A consultation with our Dental Specialist is the first step to getting a new smile. He will want to examine the damaged teeth to ensure that they can be saved in order to be able to apply crowns or veneers. Where this is not possible, dental implants may have to be considered.
The Procedure
At the first treatment to deliver the crowns the dentist must prepare the existing teeth. He does this by removing portions of your existing teeth and taking an impression to be sent to the laboratory so that your new crowns can be specially made for you. In the time between the preparation and the fitting of the final crown, the dentist may apply temporary crowns.
When your new crowns are ready at the laboratory, the final treatment can be done. The temporary crowns are removed and the final new ones are fitted.
To prepare the teeth for veneers, the dentist carefully removes a portion of your tooth from the front. He removes only the thickness of a fingernail to allow space for the porcelain veneer. Again, we need an impression of the tooth so that the laboratory can create the perfect veneer for you.
After the procedure
It is very important that when the veneers are fitted you keep the teeth very clean. It is vital that you keep them well brushed.

How are porcelain crowns fitted?
Unlike veneers, porcelain crowns cover all surfaces of the tooth and are used only when the tooth is fractured or very broken down. The porcelain used is the same as that used for veneers so they are strong and look just as natural. Crowns are made to improve your overall smile or to blend in with your own teeth. Being made of porcelain they do not leave a black line at the gum level as seen in so many conventional crowns.
Porcelain Crowns with Dental Implants
If your own teeth are not healthy enough or are missing, then a dental implant can be used to fix a crown into the gum for a strong, natural looking replacement. Replacing poor teeth or filling gaps is one of the most dramatic cosmetic dentistry results and lays the foundation for any additional work such as whitening or veneers.
